RECRUITMENT FAQ

  • Do I have to be a business major to join Pi Sigma Epsilon?
Pi Sigma Epsilon is open to ALL majors. We have members with majors ranging from Professional Sales to Public Relations to Human Resources to Business Information Systems. Regardless of major, members will receieve professional development, different opportunities not accessbile to the general student population, brotherhood, and more.
  • Am I required to attend all recruitment events?
No, you are not required to attend all recruitment events, however it is strongly encouraged as it will allow you to meet as many general members as possible, ultimately allowing them to better assess the potential of you becoming a prospective member. However, you MUST attend a final interview on Saturday following recruitment week.
  • How do I become a prospective member?
It is encouraged to attend if not all, as many recruitment events as possible. During the recruitment process, you will be asked to sign up for a final interview, which will factor into the decision of whether or not you will be invited to become a prospective member. If you are unable to make any of the recruitment events or were unable to sign up for a final interview, please contact the VP of Human Resourses at pse.isu.humanresources@gmail.com
  • How many people are selected to become prospective members?
There is no limit to how many people are invited to become prospective members. It depends on the semester. If 25 people are thought to be qualified, then 25 will be invited to become PMs. If only 5 are thought to be qualified, then only 5 will be invited to become PMs.
  • What should I bring and wear to the final interview?
You should treat this interview the same as if you were interviewing for a job. Business Professional attire and bring a resume.
  • What is the time commitment of being a prospective member?
The Prospective Member process is a 9-week process. Prospective Members are required to attend Prospective Member class weekly followed by General Member Meetings (Chapter) on Tuesday nights @ 6 PM. They are required to complete all tasks assigned by the VP of Human Resources, as well as attend all events required by the VP of Human Resources.
  • Is there an age restriction for becoming a Prospective Member?
The only requirement is that you are an undergraduate student with 3 semesters remaining, including your semester as a prospective member (Ex. 2nd semester Junior graduating on time is eligble to become a prospective member, a 1st semester Senior graduating on time in ineligible)
  • What is the difference between a Prospective Member and a General Member?
General Members are those who completed the 9-week prospective member process and were initiated into Pi Sigma Epsilon. Prospective Members are NOT official members until they are initiated at the end of the 9-week process. Prospective Members can only become General Members if they complete all tasks and assessments assigned by the VP of Human Resources. The decision of whether or not a PM will be initiated is at the discretion of the VP of Human Resources and PM Trainers.
